DIAMONDS, Pas de Deux from Mariinsky principals!

The Principal soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre to perform at the Beaulieu Theater!
The second part of the interlude 2018 is a special and rare occasion as the Prix de Lausanne presents the Principal soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre. Under the Direction of Yuri Fateev, a special performance of Diamonds (Choreography by George Balanchine, © The George Balanchine Trust) will be danced by Kristina Shapran(First Soloist) and Xander Parish (Principal Dancer). The Prix de Lausanne is honored to host the soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre in this memorable occasion.

First Soloist, Mariinsky Ballet
Kristina Shapran was born in Leningrad (St Petersburg) and graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 2011. From 2011–2014 she was a soloist with the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre where her repertoire included lead roles in the ballets Giselle (Giselle), Don Quixote (Queen of the Dryads), The Nutcracker (Masha), Natalia Makarova’s production of La Bayadère (Nikia), Pierre Lacotte’s staging of La Sylphide (The Sylph) and Roland Petit’s production of Coppélia (Swanilda). From January to June 2014 she was a principal dancer at the Mikhailovsky Theatre where she performed lead roles in the ballets Giselle (Giselle), La Bayadère (Nikia), Le Corsaire (Medora) and Multiplicity. Forms of Silence and Emptiness (from Nacho Duato). She joined the Mariinsky Ballet in 2014. In December 2015 she made her debut at the Paris Opera Ballet as Nikia in the ballet La Bayadère, staged by Rudolf Nureyev.

Xander Parish was born in Yorkshire (Great Britain) and graduated from the Royal Ballet School in 2005 joining the Royal Ballet that same year. In 2010 he joined the Mariinsky Ballet as it’s first British dancer and was promoted to Second soloist in 2014, First soloist in 2016 and Principal in 2017. Xander has been a guest artist with the Kremlin Ballet, Stanislavsky Ballet, Opera National Bucharest, English National Ballet and in 2016 he made his debut with American Ballet Theatre as an exchange artist dancing the role of Aminta in Ashton’s Sylvia. Xander is generously supported by the Mariinsky Theatre Trust UK.
